The Anxiety (And joy) Of My 6th Book!

Hello Reader,

I’m writing this with a mix of excitement and that familiar feeling of anxiety in my chest.

I just finished posting a podcast episode announcing my newest book, Clever Girl Millionaire: A Guide to Redefining What’s Possible, Turning Ambitions into Actions, and Dreams into Millions.

You’d think that by book number six (technically seven, if you count the total rewrite of my first one!), the nerves would have vanished. You’d think I’d just hit “publish” and go grab a coffee.

But the truth is, the anxiety never really leaves. In fact, with this book, it feels a little heavier. (Releasing March 31st, 2026!)

Right now, my desk is covered in checklists. I am in full “launch mode,” meticulously planning how to maximize every single avenue to make this book a success. I don’t take for granted that I have a publisher or a platform. I know that at the end of the day, no one will champion this work harder than I will.

I prioritize promoting every single book I write as if my career depends on, it regardless of publisher support, because I believe deeply in the message I’m sharing.

And this message is personal.

Why this one feels different

Clever Girl Millionaire isn’t just a “how-to” guide. Drawing on my roots as the daughter of "first-generation everythings", it represents years of my own lessons, growth, and yes, mistakes. It is the result of discipline when I didn’t feel like it, and faith when things were incredibly hard.

I wrote much of this book while navigating my dad’s illness, and I finished it just before he passed away. It stretched me. It challenged me. It required faith at every single step.

So when I look at that launch checklist, it’s not just about hitting a bestseller list. It’s about honoring the season of life I was in when I wrote it, and honoring the women I know need to read it.

What we’re actually building

The goal of this book is to redefine what wealth actually means.

For so long, we’ve been conditioned to think wealth is reserved for “other people.” You know the ones: the people who started investing at 18, the people with trust funds, the people who married rich, or the ones who just got lucky. It’s easy to look at them and think, “Well, that’s not my reality, so why bother?”

But I wrote this book to dismantle that myth. I wrote it to show you, step by step, that wealth isn’t an accident, it is built intentionally.

It’s not about following a cookie-cutter formula; it’s about understanding the tools available to you and using them to build a life of freedom.

In the book, I break this down into what I call the Pillars of Prosperity. These are the four engines of wealth creation:

  • Earned Income: This is the foundation for most of us, the money we trade our time for. It’s the engine that funds everything else.
  • Investing: This is how you make your money work while you sleep. It’s about planting seeds today that grow into forests tomorrow.
  • Real Estate: This isn’t just about buying a home to live in; it’s about creating consistent cash flow through tangible assets.
  • Entrepreneurship: This is about ownership, turning your ideas into income and taking control of your financial ceiling.

Here is the secret: You don’t have to master all four at once. You can mix, match, and blend these pillars to create a strategy that actually fits your life and risk tolerance.

My many mistakes

Social media loves to show the “after” photo of wealth. We rarely see the messy middle. In Clever Girl Millionaire, I pull back the curtain on my own financial face-plants.

I share the time I cashed out my 401(k) early because I didn’t know better, triggering taxes and penalties that ate up 40% of my hard-earned savings. I share my “tenant from hell” story, where a real estate investment I thought would bring passive income turned into an eviction nightmare and a financial loss. I even talk about the time I tried to invest my way to riches and ended up buying high and selling low.

I share these not to scare you, but to prove a point: You cannot shame yourself into wealth.

Course correction is a standard part of the process. If you are currently beating yourself up over a money mistake you made five years ago (or five days ago), I remind you through this book, that your financial past does not define your financial future.

A favor to ask

I’m going to be honest with you: I need your help.

There is no Clever Girl Finance without you. There is no success for this book without you.

If my work has ever helped you save, invest, or just feel less alone in your financial journey, I would be so honored if you supported this book.

How you can help right now:

  1. Pre-order the book: This is the single biggest thing you can do. It tells retailers that this book matters. [Pre-order here]
  2. Share it: Text a friend, drop a link in your group chat, or share it on social.

Thank you for allowing me to be vulnerable, for growing with me, and for being part of this community. I am so proud of this body of work, and I cannot wait for it to be in your hands on March 31st, 2026.

I’ll get back to my checklist now. 📝

With gratitude and love,

Bola
